Policy & Advocacy Director, American Civil Liberties Union of Georgia
Christopher E. Bruce (B.A. ’07) is the policy and advocacy director for the ACLU of Georgia. Bruce helped spearhead the ACLU of Georgia’s Voter Access Project, which successfully recruited hundreds of new poll workers and placed a lawyer in every voting precinct in Fulton County, Ga., to ensure voting integrity. He has worked with several other civil rights icons, such as U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock to fight voter suppression in Atlanta and U.S. Rep. Nikema Williams to stop unfair redistricting, and served as political director of Atlanta for Stacey Abrams.
An avid leader in the fight for civil rights and liberties across Georgia and the country, Bruce is also an adviser to elected officials and other government entities, and a guest university lecturer at institutions including Harvard Law School, the University of Georgia and Emory University. A member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Bruce also gives his time to Hands On Atlanta, Urban League of Greater Atlanta, the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys and the State Bar of Georgia.
