Fatoumata Diarrassouba (B.B.A. ’13, M.A. ’16) is an entrepreneur from Côte d’Ivoire and co-founder of Afrik’Energy Connect Inc., a pan-African startup specialized in rural electrification, solar home systems, mini- and micro-grids and productive uses of renewable energy. Diarrassouba’s company aims to increase energy access and its productive uses in West Africa by providing affordable, climate-smart technologies to households and communities not connected to the grid.
An economist and researcher with more than 10 years of professional experience in the public and private sectors and with international organizations, Diarrassouba is a member of the United Nations Development Programme advisory group on energy governance. She is also a committed volunteer for SDG7 Youth Constituency, the U.N. global platform for youth to channel their actions and voices on energy issues, with an emphasis on renewable energy.
