Marcus John (A.S. '09, B.B.A. '12) is a creative visionary who has blazed a unique professional path, combining art and fashion collaborations with A-list celebrities and top brands and publications with compassionate humanitarianism. With his strong network of connections in art, fashion and celebrity, John provides a variety of creative services for film, television, photographers, advertisers and industry professionals. He’s applied his talents and leveraged his connections to help transform perceptions and break stigmas around scoliosis as the founder and creative director of the nonprofit Back to Healing. Through this organization, he has developed awareness campaigns with organizations and brands including Michael Kors, Jimmy Choo, American Express, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and others that aim to empower those with scoliosis, changing their and others’ mindsets about beauty.
Through Back to Healing, John has established partnerships with large medical device companies and raised more than $1.5 million to provide free surgeries to children living in impoverished areas in Brazil. As a public figure and philanthropist, John has been featured in BBC, Black Enterprise, Huff Post, and more.
