Sahil Bajaj (M.S. ’13, Ph.D. ’15) is an accomplished researcher and author of nearly 50 published articles and more than 100 abstracts or posters. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Cancer Systems Imaging at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. There, he serves cancer patients and clinicians by applying his clinical research, which analyzes the impact of cancer and cancer therapies on patients’ mental health. He previously studied psychiatric disorders, such as depression, suicide risk, anxiety, irritability and aggression, as a research scientist and director of the Multimodal Clinical Neuroimaging Laboratory at Boys Town National Research Hospital in Boys Town, Neb.
Bajaj has received numerous awards for his work and has successfully collaborated on research projects that have been awarded almost $10 million in grant funding. He is also an experienced teacher who has remained close with his former Georgia State professors and, at their request, has shared his experiences and presented his research to numerous graduate students.
