What Are the Advantages of Interdisciplinary Studies?
The world isn’t one-dimensional, and neither are the expectations of today’s employers. Companies want well-rounded employees that not only mastered their academic studies, but also possess valuable soft skills, such as critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork and written and oral communication. Our degree programs empower students to do both. While a traditional degree is focused on one academic subject, interdisciplinary education enhances the academic experience by exposing students to several related fields and broadening the scope of what they learn. We assessed the current and future needs of biomedical industry employers and structured degree programs that prepare students to meet these demands, merging studies in biomedical science, business and law. This training cultivates a diverse skill set that helps our students stand out to leading employers.
